About Forgotten Harvest

For 30 years, Forgotten Harvest has fought two problems: hunger and waste. In 1990, they set down roots in the greater metro Detroit area and began rescuing food surpluses from grocery stores, markets, restaurants, caterers, and more. They took donated food, which would otherwise go to waste, and delivered it free-of-charge to emergency food providers in the metro Detroit area. All the food they rescue and produce is delivered to metro Detroit families who are food-insecure and struggle to cover the cost of basic life necessities.
